We are delighted to be working with over 200 school children across the Island. The kids will be helping us to decorate the showground and we look forward to showing you their work soon.

They will be designing posters, creating models of chickens and ducks from recycled materials, decorating the giant ‘Village Green’ letters and making scarecrows. They are also being encouraged to take part in events on the day, including taking photos, entering a treasure hunt and putting together teams for the School Village Sports Event. Thank you to all the teachers and children involved!

As part of our work with young people, we are holding an Education Day for youngsters on Wednesday 22nd May. Members of the Royal Isle of Wight Agricultural Society will share their expertise with Year 4 children. Up to 15 children from every school on the Island will be able to take part in hands on activities with animals and machines.

Graham Biss, Chairman, welcomes the children’s input and invites any schools that are interested to get in touch, if they haven’t already:

“We love working with young people and there’s so much creative talent out there in our local schools. We’re looking forward to seeing what they come up with this year!”
